Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information How7o (the “site”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit how7o.com, how that information is used, which third-party services are involved, and what choices you have over your data. Read this carefully — if you do not agree with anything below, please do not use the site.

1. Summary (the short version)

  • The interactive tools on How7o run entirely in your browser. Whatever you paste, type, or upload into a tool stays on your device — we never receive it.
  • We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages are popular. This drops cookies and sends anonymized usage data to Google.
  • We use Google AdSense to display ads. AdSense may use cookies and may show personalized ads based on your browsing history if you have consented in Google’s ad settings.
  • We use Cloudflare as a content-delivery network. Cloudflare sees your IP address to route traffic and block abuse.
  • We do not sell your personal data. We do not run an email newsletter that collects your address. We do not require an account to use the site.

2. Information collected automatically

When you load a page on How7o, our server logs and the services listed below automatically receive:

  • Your IP address
  • Your browser user-agent string (browser name, version, operating system)
  • The page URL you requested and the page you came from (HTTP Referer)
  • The timestamp of the request
  • Generic location data (country / region) derived from IP

This information is standard for any website and is used to diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and understand traffic patterns. We do not link it to any personally identifying information you have not provided yourself.

3. Information you actively provide

The interactive tools on How7o run as JavaScript in your browser. Whatever you type, paste, or upload into a tool (text to format, files to convert, codes to decode, dates to calculate from) is processed on your device and never transmitted to our servers. We have no logs, no copies, no recovery system — because we never receive the data in the first place.

The one exception is the contact form: if you submit a message, your name, email address, and message text are sent to us via email so we can reply.

4. Third-party services

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how many people visit each page, which countries they come from, how long they stay, and which tools are most used. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser and sends anonymized usage data to Google.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking entirely by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by enabling “Do Not Track” / global privacy controls in your browser.

Google AdSense

Display ads on How7o are served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Ads may be personalized based on your prior interactions with Google services unless you have opted out.

You can control how Google personalizes ads — across How7o and any other site that uses AdSense — by visiting your Google Ads Settings. Google’s own ad-related privacy practices are documented at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Cloudflare

How7o uses Cloudflare as a content-delivery network and security layer. Cloudflare receives your IP address to route requests to our server, cache static assets, and protect the site from automated abuse (bots, scrapers, denial-of-service attempts). Cloudflare’s data handling is described in their privacy policy.

5. Cookies

How7o and the third-party services above use the following cookie categories:

  • Strictly necessary — set by WordPress and our caching layer to make the site work (page caching, theme preferences). These cannot be disabled without breaking site functionality.
  • Analytics — set by Google Analytics to measure traffic (_ga, _ga_*).
  • Advertising — set by Google AdSense and its ad partners to serve and measure ads.

You can clear or block cookies at any time using your browser’s settings. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not prevent you from using the tools on How7o.

6. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Request that we correct inaccurate personal data
  • Request that we delete personal data we hold about you (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Object to processing or restrict it
  • Withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority

In practice, the only personal data How7o itself stores is whatever you have voluntarily sent through our contact form. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact page and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children’s privacy

How7o is not directed at children under 13 (or under the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Data retention

Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google’s default retention period (14 months for user-level and event-level data). Contact-form submissions are retained until the conversation is resolved, then deleted.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as services or laws change. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be flagged in a banner on the site for at least 14 days.

10. Contact

Privacy questions, data-access requests, and complaints all go through our contact page. Please use the subject line “Privacy” so we can route the message promptly.
